Kalsubai Peak Is Situated In Western Ghat In The Ahmednagar District. Kalsubai has a height of 1646m or 5400 Feets is famous as the highest peak in Maharashtra. Kalsubai Mountain lies in the Sahyadri mountain range falling under Kalsubai harishchandragad wildlife sanctuary . Kalsubai Height being the highest peak, it commands a beautiful view in monsoon.
There are steel railings, chains and ladders at places where it is difficult to climb. Kalsubai trekking distance is a 6.6 km-long (4.1 mi) trek with an elevation gain of around 2,700 feet (820 m). This is a one-day trek having a moderately hard difficulty level, with lush green landscapes and multiple waterfalls. The peak attracts many trekkers and devotees determined to scale the mountain.
To reach the summit there are well-designated trekking routes. The most popular route is through the eastern mountain face taking off from the base village Bari. The Krishnavanti river, a tributary of Pravara, takes origin on its eastern slope and flows like a stream through the outer fringes of Bari. The mountain can be viewed in its entirety from Bari village located on its eastern side, about six km (3.7 mi) from Bhandardara. It can be reached by road, via Igatpuri on the Mumbai-Nasik route. Trains leaving from Mumbai provide an alternate mode of transport to Kasara railway station, with connecting State Transport buses, plying on the Akole-Kasara route, leading up to the base village. Private vehicles from Kasara provide yet another alternative to public transport

The trekking route to Maharashtra’s Highest Peak is a wonderful experience for all nature lovers, and trek enthusiasts since beautiful green forests and fields surround it. The challenging yet enjoyable hike to the highest peak will challenge your patience while providing an amazing panoramic view of several other mountain ranges, including Alang, Madangad, Kulang, Ratangad and Pabhargad, Ghanchakkar, and Harishchandragad. In addition, for most trekking lovers, attempting to climb the Sahyadri’s most-wished-for mountain provides a fantastic sense of achievement.
It will take 2.5-3.5 hour hike to reach the top. We will take adequate breaks in between. There is many small stall available on the way. we request all participants to carry a bottle of water at least 3 liters with each one of them.
Kalsubai trek is starting from Bari Base village. You can reach Bari from Mumbai or Pune via road. trekkerskatta is providing transportation facilities from kasara railway station pick up and you can reach the base village by your own vehicle also. Trek coordinator will be sharing you base village map location with you.
